My name is Sam Hil Atalanta (they/them). I'm an illustrator and painter, living and working in Amsterdam.

I love making portraits, and I enjoy working in different styles. I work with various media such as watercolour, oil paint and digital art.

My work revolves around diversity, sexuality and inclusivity. In my work I like to play with gender, and many of the characters I paint have a softness and gentleness in their expression.

Besides making portraits, I'm working on several other projects. With The Vulva Gallery I focus on vulva diversity and sexual health education, and with The Body Diversity Gallery I’ve broadened this approach to celebrate all kinds of body parts. With You're Welcome Club I focus on inclusivity and sexuality.

In the past years I’ve worked together with Google, Netflix, Instagram (Facebook), Adobe and Bloomsbury and my work has been published/shown in Die Zeit, HuffPost, TeenVogue, Cosmopolitan, ELLE, i-D VICE, Now This, Folha de S. Paulo, SELF, Glamour, Women’s Health, Broadly, Morgenbladet, Svenska Dagbladet, Metro, ZDF, BBC, and Vogue Italia.
